I have always been fascinated with polka dots. I love them in all colors, clothes, and objects, but I wondered where this trend began. I started searching about it and it was very interesting what I found. During the medieval era, polka dots were quite infamous since their visual similarity to the scattered and circular appearance of measles, boils, and other infections. Through the renaissance, the pattern began to gain more tolerance and the trend acquired the name of “patching,” but the one that made polka dots popular in fashion was Walt Disney’s animated character, Minnie in the 1920s. The rest is well known, celebrities from Marilyn Monroe to Elizabeth Taylor had worn it and brands like Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, between others have used for their designs during decades.

Siempre he estado fascinada con los lunares. Me encantan en todos los colores, ropa y objetos, pero me preguntaba donde esta tendencia comenzó. Comenzé a buscar información sobre el tema y fue muy interesante lo que encontré.
