Last Saturday, September 29th, I had the honor to assist to an art exposition in Miami Beach. There were several artists showing their work, but my heart got captured by the sculptures by Josepo’s work. Jose Pablo Ravinet, who works under the moniker Josepo, is a self-taught artist and sculpture who taking advantage of his experience in the construction industry applies various sculpting, casting, and welding techniques to give new life and artistic direction to his medium, steel.
He states that he likes to create artwork that communicate and expresses a feeling, a memory, an experience, or simply to provoke a reaction on the viewer through the interaction with the piece, causing the spectator to have their own interpretation. Which certainly happens with you see his work.
My favorite sculpture showed in the exposition is named “The roots of the capital sins” (picture above). If you like to see more of his work, please visit his website josepometalsculpture.com
